Smruti Joshi (1993) has an interesting artistic engagement with flat surfaces. Her medium is often located in the mixed media genre for conveniences as she uses various kinds of materials to build her narration on the world of Artificial Intelligence and the loss of direct human labour on language and communication.

Mostly a background of black or white sets the tone for a pen-ink sketch or drawing that she embellishes with electronic or mechanical parts. Materials, such as computer chips, electrical wires, ropes made of coconut husks or just parts that she may have found on electrical goods, are all very exciting objects found in her works.Read more
