Born in Madras (now Chennai) in 1940, M Sivanesan is one of India’s most profound artists, he has exhibited widely in India and abroad. His artworks are a reflection of his personal moods, he believes that portraying his emotions through canvas has a louder voice and impact than some profound statement. Sivanesan's works are figurative in style and subtle in colour. Humans are an important aspect of his artworks as he shows the beauty he sees within them through his paintings. M. Sivanesan does not use his painting to make statements.

 

Graduated from the Madras Goverment College of Arts & Crafts, 1956

He had exhibitions around the globe which includes Bangkok (1976), Los Angeles (1977), Ottawa (1978), New York and Washington DC (1979).
