SPLASH
CATALYST

Supporting emerging curatorial and critical practices.

Splash Catalyst is Gallerie Splash’s platform for emerging curators, writers and cultural practitioners. It creates the time, mentorship, resources and public platforms through which research-led ideas can develop into exhibitions, writing and wider cultural dialogue.

The initiative supports independent enquiry across modern and contemporary art, design, architecture, material and living traditions, and interdisciplinary approaches to visual culture. It encourages perspectives that extend existing discourse and bring greater attention to underrepresented histories, communities and forms of knowledge.

Each fellowship also includes a ₹50,000 fellowship award, a ₹1,50,000 exhibition production budget, dedicated exhibition space, and travel and accommodation support for installation.

ONE INITIATIVE, TWO FORMS OF PRACTICE

The Curatorial Fellowship and Writer's Grant recognise exhibitions and writing as connected forms of cultural enquiry.

One programme supports ideas developed through artists, objects, space and public experience. The other supports ideas developed through research, language, argument and publication. Together, they create a platform for emerging practitioners to examine art and visual culture through distinct but interconnected approaches.

Applications are welcomed from varied backgrounds and perspectives, particularly from practitioners whose work expands the subjects, methods and voices represented within contemporary cultural discourse.
