Pranati Panda, born in 1974 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, is an artist whose work delves deeply into self-reflection. She completed her BFA at B.K. College of Arts and Crafts, followed by an MFA from the Delhi College of Art. In her art, Pranati often places herself at the center of a personal exploration, using abstraction and storytelling to examine her own philosophies on life. Her process is highly meditative, with her signature threadwork reflecting her commitment to the meaning found in labor and the pursuit of open-ended questions.
In 2019, she held her first solo exhibition, *Speaking Threads*, at Vadehra Art Gallery in New Delhi. Pranati has also been featured in many other exhibitions, including shows at Latitude 28 and Gallery Art Positive in New Delhi (both in 2021), as well as earlier exhibitions at Ragini Art Gallery (2018), Religare Art (2012), Exhibit 320 (2010), and Project 88 in Mumbai (2007), among others. Her work has traveled internationally to venues like Shrine Gallery and Empire Art in Singapore, and Grosvenor Vadehra in London.
Pranati’s talent was recognized early on, earning her the Orissa State Akademi Award in 1993. Today, she continues her creative practice from her home base in New Delhi.
