Geetanjali Bayan is an artist from Guwahati, Assam. She holds a bachelor's degree from the Government College of Art and Craft, Guwahati (2016–2022), and a master's from the prestigious Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai (2022–2024).
Initially trained in traditional methods, her practice has evolved to focus on experimental techniques using thread and rope, with a particular emphasis on knitting and stitching. Her work is deeply personal and influenced by her Assamese heritage, drawing inspiration from her mother’s knitting to weave together her personal history, culture, and artistic expression. Geetanjali is a recipient of the Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation Award. Her work has been featured in a number of notable exhibitions and residencies, including Hampi Art Lab and Space Studio Baroda.
Her selected group exhibitions include Art Centrix Space, Delhi (2025); Tao Art Gallery, Mumbai (2025); Po10tial, Mumbai (2025); Jute Group Exhibition, National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy, New Delhi (2024); Annual Art Exhibition, Sir J.J.
