Statement

The way in which we navigate space, both public and private, is an integral part to how we perceive things around us. I explore the effects of time on memory, identity and nature. Our memories are based on our histories, and experiences and can dwell in either light or shadow.

Some memories are strong and vibrant and sometimes they are buried in our subconscious, faint and blurred. Memories may be faded or just traces of a remembered moment in our past. I also believe there is a strong connection between nature and one’s self... our identity is tied to our sense of place. Therefore, my work incorporates natural materials that I or my parents collected.
